Hi, I'm anna.

How to prepare for rain on your Wedding Day

Jan 10, 2020

Hello, my bride! Although rain may not be your ideal weather forecast for your wedding day, don’t panic! I have every confidence in the world that your wedding day is going to turn out beautifully rain or shine. One of my most frequently received questions is “what do we do if it rains?”. I want to assure you that you will still have beautiful, vibrant colors in your images! No bride would wish for rain on their wedding day, but if it happens, it happens, and it’s going to be just fine! Some of our best weddings have been on rainy days!

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

1. I know you’ve worked tirelessly creating a dream team of vendors for your wedding day. One thing I know you looked for in the vendors you selected is experience. Because we’ve seen it all, we are prepared for it all, and we are so excited to serve you rain, or shine! It is in moments like this that you can rest assured that your vendors will serve you well by helping you create a rain plan that will create a plan-b that is just as beautiful as your original vision. Most importantly take a big deep breath and know that the pressure is off! Definitely have a rain plan for your venue, but then let your vendors do the work of handling the rest of the day if rain is in the forecast. We’ve got your back and your umbrella!

2. All I need to create beautiful natural light portraits on a rainy wedding day is a porch! Just one porch! (like the photos below)

3. Clear umbrellas are a sweet personal and practical touch! Not only do they add extra protection from the rain while moving between venues, but they are also a sweet way to embrace the rain and tell the story in some of your wedding day images.

4. You may want to contact your hair and make-up artist to make any necessary adjustments to your bridal look, which will help you stay picture perfect all day.

No matter what happens on your wedding day, the absolute most important thing is that you are marrying the love of your life. I am so honored to stand beside you while these precious memories are made, and I can’t wait to photograph you two stealing a few kisses in the rain!
